Charming country house in the heart of Apulia

In the unique and  culturally as well as scenically fascinating region of Valle d'Itria you can easily combine culture and beach holidays during your stay at Casa Gelsomino. The trulli village of Alberobello is only a stone’s throw away; Cisternino with its picturesque center lies, so to speak, right in front of your door; long beaches along a crystal clear sea stretch out only a few kilometers to the west.

The lovely and very idyllically located country house of friendly owner Nicola houses altogether four holiday apartments, each with a separate entrance and a private terrace.

Holiday apartment Casa Gelsomino includes
- a living-dining room with a sofa, which is easily turned into a bed for two (3rd/4th person), dining furniture and SAT-TV (flat screen TV);
- a kitchen (incl. 4-burner gas stove, refrigerator with freezer compartment, microwave);
- a cozy bedroom with double bed;
- a bathroom (shower/WC/bidet).

WIFI is also available at the apartment. Strong walls are typical for old country houses in Apulia and they keep the inside pleasantly cool in summer. Guests at Casa Gelsomino will nevertheless find a fan at their disposal. 

A washing machine and an outdoor shower are shared by all the apartments.

The private terrace of Casa Gelsomino

As a fence separates the terrace of Casa Gelsomino from the remaining premises of the country house, you have got your privacy. You can enjoy the sun, prepare something delicious on the grill, savor a glass of cool white wine, indulge in your holiday read or simply relax in the shade of the roofed part of the apartment's outdoor area without anyone disturbing you.

The whole property is framed by olive trees as well as fragrant and blooming bushes.

Parking: Parking is available on the premises.

Breakfast on request: A typical Italian breakfast (espresso or cappuccino, cake and fruit) can be booked on site; cheese and ham are served, if ordered in advance.

Every now and then in summer, Nicola organizes 'group' dinners for his guests. Depending on the dish (fish or meat), dinner starts at € 15 per person (beverages not included).
When we were on site, we got to enjoy typically local, home-made orechiette with tomato sugo.

In the surroundings of Casa Gelsomino

At the small town of Casalini (ca. 800 m), you find bars, grocery stores and pizzeria "Il Quadrifoglio". A larger choice of restaurants and stores is found in the center of Cisternino (ca. 4 km).

It takes you about half an hour by car to reach the famous trulli village of Alberobello.

Tip for a day by the sea

Spending at least one day at and in the Mediterranean Sea during your stay, is probably a matter of course.

Charming small seaside resort Torre Canne, for example, is only a few kilometers from Casalini. During high season, there are, not surprisingly, a lot of vacationers, but during low season, you have often got the fine sandy beach all to yourself.
Another great place for waterbugs and beach enthusiasts - the beaches of Pilone, located towards Ostuni.
